ABOUT

REASONS FOR THE BLOG:

In September of 2009 the Holy See released a communique' revealing that Pope Benedict's upcoming message for the 44th World Communications Day in 2010 would be dedicated to the theme, "The Priest and Pastoral Ministry in a Digital World: New Media at the Service of the Word."  The Holy Father was inviting priests to consider the new forms of media as a great resource to their ministry in service of the Word of God, and was encouraging them to address the challenges of the new digital culture.

As I am a Cathoic priest, the Holy Father's invitation and encouragement has inspired me to take up his challenge through the means of this humble blog, which began in November of 2009, and make known the Word of Life through some simple reflections on the Sunday Mass Readings.

The Church has a positive message to offer the world, a message which also needs to be brought to the "seventh continent" of the internet.  Through this blog I hope to offer this new "continent" a positive message of light by pondering the beauty and greatness of God's plan for each of us, no matter where we are in life, and no matter where we have been.

FREQUENCY OF POSTS:

This blog is not my main apostolate, only something I enjoy doing on the side.  As a result there are certain periods of time when I cannot post as frequently as I would like.  That said, I will normally post a reflection on Friday (or Saturday at times!) in preparation for Sunday Mass.  There will be a link to the Sunday Mass Readings followed by a reflection on those readings.

WAYS TO USE THE BLOG:

Aside from following the current posts, you can follow/use this blog in other ways.  First of all, you can subscribe and be notified automatically of any new posts (either through a "reader" or receive the posts via email), or you can use the blog like a resource and use the excellent search engine to query any topic that interests you.  As time goes on more and more passages of Scripture will be commented on, and more modern day issues will be addressed.  There are also different topics listed on the right side of the blog.

COMMENTS:

Feel free to leave your comments / thoughts / insights / or even questions on posts, as I look forward to hearing from you.  Please note that anything deemed inappropriate will be removed.
